Anglesea offers an opportunity to visit the ‘Chocolaterie’ or go kangaroo spotting at the Anglesea Golf Course.
Drive Past: Aireys Inlet Split Point Lighthouse, Fairhaven ‘Pole House’
Stop 4:
Eastern View, Famous Great Ocean Road Sign
Stop 5:
Lorne, *Lunch Break: Visit the famed ‘Teddys Lookout’ for one of the best views of the Great Ocean Road.
Drive Past: Kennet River A leisurely drive offers a fair chance of spotting a koala or two, along with other iconic Australian wildlife.
Stop 6:
Apollo Bay, Mariners Lookout
Stop 7:
Maits Rest Rainforest Walk - An easy wander in a towering forest.
Stop 8:
Port Campbell National Park - Gibsons Steps offers an opportunity to walk onto the beach and admire the cliffs above.
Stop 9:
Port Campbell National Park - 12 Apostles Visitor Centre features short walks to various viewing points, including the newly opened Saddle Lookout.
Stop 10:
Port Campbell National Park-Loch Ard Gorge & The Razorback Lookout-a historical Shipwreck Site with an interesting tale. These are the final epic photo opportunities.
Stop 11:
Overnight Stay - Port Fairy - Depart Following Morning 8.30am
Drive Past: The Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, and gaze at the towering crater walls of the volcano that emerged from the surrounding flat plains while looking for koalas, kangaroos, emus and even wedge-tailed eagles.
Stop 12:
Warnambool - Season dependent; whale watching from Logans Beach Lookout
Drive Past: Timboon - Located in the heart of dairy country and also home to the famous 'Timboon Ice Creamery' and Schultz Organic Creamery & Cafe.
Stop 13:
Hopetoun Falls - A convenient location to view the 30-metre cascade of water into the Aire River, with an option to descend the 200 stairs and be among the spray of the falls, surrounded by rainforest.
Stop 14:
The Otways Redwood Forest - Amongst the tallest trees in the world, the Californian Sequoia Sempervirens tower over the flats of Aire River.
Stop 15:
Forest (The Town) - Final stop for a coffe/restroom break before setting off for the drive back into the hustle & bustle of Melbourne
